It will be a back porch banjo conversing with a classical cello…

This year’s concert features Richard Tillinghast and Tova Cochrane.

Rodger Nichols of the Dalles Chronicle writes, “Pairing a guitar and banjo playing singer-songwriter (Tillinghast) with a classically trained cellist (Cochrane) is not an obvious choice, but it’s a musical marriage that works beautifully.”

Saturday, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Bring a picnic and a blanket. Desserts and drinks will be available for purchase.

Calling All Artists!

The Trout Lake Festival of the Arts invites all artists of the Columbia Gorge and surrounding areas to apply to exhibit at the 16th annual 2011 Trout Lake Festival of the Arts. All exhibiting artists must be juried and up to 50 artists will be selected in all mediums of two and three dimensional art. The art will be judged on its quality and creativity. Jury decisions are final. Deadline for application is March 31, 2011. Notification of jurors’ decision will be made by the end of April. Festival 2010 is coming…

This year’s festival is just around the corner. The artists have been chosen and musicians are waiting in the wings. Don’t forget to mark your calenders for July 17 and 18 at The Farm B&B in beautiful Trout Lake, WA. We will have regional food, beer and wine from Otto’s, Heavenly Grounds, Double Mountain Brewery, and Maryhill Winery. Bring the kids and stop by the Children’s Corner for hands on activities!

Featured Artist: Lillian Pitt

Lillian Pitt is a Pacific Northwest Native American artist. Her focus is on creating contemporary works of fine art that honor the history and legends of her people.

Primarily a sculptor and mixed media artist, Lillian has a lifetime of works that includes artistic expressions in clay, bronze, wearable art, prints, and most recently, glass.

New Saturday Night Concert!

We have a new Saturday evening event from 7-9:00 pm held on our ourdoor stage. This year we will have two great musical guests: Star Meichtry (a solo guitarist who will play blues, jazz, and classical) and Kent Olson & Group (bluegrass & old time fiddle). There will be beer, wine and dessert available for purchase. So join us back at The Farm B&B Saturday night.

Star Meichtry

Star, a musician of over 30 years, plays a mixture of jazz and classically oriented pieces on acoustic guitar. He has played at the Maryhill Winery, the Maryhill Art Museum’s annual art show, as well as at the Fort Vancouver Regional Library’s concert series in Goldendale, Washington. He regularly performs at the second Thursday featured artist and wines of the neighborhood event offered by the Golden art guild on whose board he sits. All his proceeds are donated to local charity and the arts .
